There are millions of changes going on in my day to day life… as I’m sure there are in yours. Of course, the one thing that never changes are my fuzzy companions: Bitty, Lily and Jasper. So while staying at my Mom’s house for a while might be easy for me it’s a little more challenging for the pets. Especially the cats!

My mom has two adorable little dachshunds but the kitties are new territory… my Mom’s younger dachshund Daisy isn’t quite sure what a cat even is yet. She is still chasing after them and smelling every. single. cat. related. item.

Since my Mom doesn’t have a great set up for cats (I mean why would she… she has no cats) we’re making do with what we have which is one litter box for both cats. YIKES!

Typically you want one litter box per cat and an extra just to keep things clean so we are down TWO litter boxes at the moment and I’m scooping several times a day just to keep things clean. Since we’re adjusting to life with one litter box at the moment I had to be extra sure our litter was up to the job so Lily and I stopped by PetSmart to pick up a big box of TIDY CATS® Free & Clean™ Unscented Clumping Litter.

Lily always loves a visit to PetSmart, especially if we leave her brother at home. Jasper is our wild child and the last time we attempted to bring him out of the house he ran away into the woods and we thought he was gone forever.

Lily however has been shopping since she was a kitten and loves to look at the birds and sit on all. the. things. She has to be on a harness since she’s always trying to leap onto the nearest shelf or perch. Crazy cat!

Okay, okay I hear you… let’s get down to the main event. Once I got home to set up the litter box I realized I don’t even have storage for the kitties scoop or supplies in Mom’s bathroom. I don’t know about y’all but I don’t like to simply place the litter scoop on the floor… you get litter everywhere!

So I decided to grab a little box and make an easy DIY cat supply organizer. It’s super easy… I grabbed my Cricut and printed off a label on chalkboard vinyl. I wanted an easy way to remember exactly when to replace the kitty litter in the box with new fresh kitty litter… we only have one box right now, remember?

So I made a little chalkboard sign for the front of my supply box! Now I know exactly when to change the litter in the litter box and with the new Tidy Cats Free and Clean Mom says our one box system smells better already.

Trust me… it was getting a little icky. If you know what I mean.

On the other hand when I let her smell it she decided to rub her head on it like it was a new kind of kitty perfume so maybe she just thinks it smells nice… who knows?!
