It’s officially been a month since I moved into my new house (4 months since the original walk through on the lot when we ordered this bad boy<\/a>) and I’m finally getting past the unpacking stage and into the enjoying my new house phase. Of course, there’s a long road left to go… I have to unpack the guest room and the laundry room for starters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not to mention alllllll of the projects on my to-do list for working on each and every room. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As far as the big projects are going we’re looking good. The house is obviously in place (you can watch it being delivered here<\/a>) and now has official steps and skirting. I’ve done my official exit interview with the manufactured house company (and my mortgage company) and even made my first mortgage payment this month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All that’s left to do is the follow up walk through with the manufactured house company 2 months after the move in date (which for me is January 1st).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As far as the inside goes it’s all starting to come together. I can walk from room to room now without seeing a million projects which is my new favorite thing! <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since Christmas is right around the corner, you’ll notice that quite a few of my Christmas decorations are already up and in place… but here it is. My brand new Lula Mae farmhouse in all it’s glory! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kitchen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Let’s start in the kitchen… it’s all decked out for Christmas so normally there won’t be a rose gold mercury glass tree forest on the island (which makes me sad). BUT this room is probably the closest to finished in the entire house. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Probably because it’s filled with cabinets and already b-e-a-utiful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m not much of a cook but this room was definitely one of the main features that sold me on this house. Especially since with the open floor plan you can see the kitchen from the living room. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the most part all I’ve done in this room is unpack and decorate. There are already open shelves to decorate (which was literally the first thing I did in this house!)… and add new shelves to half of the cabinets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This house has amazing cabinets in the kitchen, butlers pantry and both bathrooms but some of them are really tall and skinny. Which is helpful for things like tall kitchenaid mixers, larger quilts & comforters… big things. But let’s be honest most of the things I need to put in my cabinets are not big, they’re actually pretty small. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cupcakes y’all… I need a cabinet for cupcakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So my Mom and I went around and added new shelves in each cabinet to break up all the space and give me more functional cabinets. I’ll be sharing a tutorial for our quick and easy solution soon but in the meantime… enjoy the rest of the pretty kitchen pictures!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Living Room<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Okay y’all in real life this room actually looks pretty good but in photos it’s looking a little… sad. Maybe that’s because it’s connected to the dining room and kitchen and their greatness is rubbing off on the living room?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Either way I definitely have quite a few projects <\/em>to tackle here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luckily most of them are smaller cosmetic things so until you start looking at the room as a whole it’s pretty easy to live with these little things not being done. Which is great since we’re in full Christmas content mode around here and probably won’t get to most of these projects for another month or two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the meantime this room is fully functional for sitting and watching tv, working on blog posts and relaxing next to the Christmas tree. Which are it’s main three functions!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
